Math instructors are encouraged to apply to participate in the Why, What and How (WWH) Calculus project by adopting the redesigned curriculum in their calculus courses. Participating instructors will receive a monetary incentive.
Each cohort of participating instructors will be expected to attend the workshops, training and monthly virtual meetings and to implement the redesigned Calculus courses under the direction of the Executive Committee. Each month, both UC Merced and Fresno State will hold one joint and one campus specific professional development session for all of the participating instructors. The training sessions will cover
- Curriculum training,
- Cultural and equity-minded teaching and assessment training,
- Grading for equity.
Discussion sessions will also be organized so that instructors can share experiences, ideas, successes, and challenges. The online repository for the curricular materials and resources will be accessible to participating instructors.
